NIER Destroys Giant Shade in New Gameplay Trailer

NIER, the action-adventure from Square Enix, has a new gameplay trailer.

The main character Nier is trying to find a cure to the Black Scrawl virus which has inflicted his daughter Yonah.

This game wasn't even on the radar for me before this video was released. Now I can say with all honesty that I will look more into this game and maybe consider saving some money for buying it.

NIER will be available on April 27th in the US for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

THQ CEO: Red Faction 4 & Saints Row 3 at E3

In a recent IGN interview with CEO of THQ Brian Farrell, we now have an update on the company's upcoming lineup. For example, the new Saints Row and Red Faction games will be on display at E3.

"I think we're going to blow people away at E3," Farrell said. "You'll be seeing Saints Row 3. You'll be seeing the next Red Faction. You'll be seeing more of Homefront. We've been talking about it, but we'll actually show some of our Warhammer 40k MMO, and I think people are going to go, 'Oh my God. They've got their stuff together.'" And Saints Row 3 will evidently cause some to remark, "This is not your father's THQ."

Well it looks like we can expect a lot of news coming out of the THQ booth at E3. Homefront will look to hold its promise of an exciting shooter, and Saints Row will look to stay in line with its number one competition Grand Theft Auto.

Nintendo DS2 Development Kit in Use

The rumored DS2 development kits are turning out to be real.

In an article today, CVG reports that one developer has gotten their hands on the kit. The Pokemon Company is the lucky winner, producers of the Pokemon series, and will begin to create new games to add to the franchise.

An insider from CVG reportedly said that "a handful" of other companies have gotten these kits also.

"It's genuinely the best thing I think I've ever worked with," he said. "I can tell you that it's got a 'tilt' function that's not dissimilar to iPhone, but does a lot more. We know that The Pokemon Company are getting special attention with it."

Unfortunately this does not mean we will see the new device at GDC. According to the source, we will not see the DS2 anywhere near the convention.

"Any kind of March announcement wouldn't fit with the timeline I understand the second DS to be on."

There it is, a new motion-sensing handheld will hit the mainstream soon.
