New Screens for Diablo III

The official site for Diablo III has posted some new screens of the dungeon area that was first shown at BlizzCon. Enjoy the new screens.

Diablo III is an adventure-based action RPG game that is scheduled to hit the US in 2011 for the PC. Diablo III is the newest sequel to the Diablo series and will feature many improvements such as Havok Physics and an expansion to the players inventory.

Catch up with previous Diablo versions to get ready for Diablo III:

Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Graphics are Inferior to PlayStation 3

Supposedly play-testers of Final Fantasy XIII have been reporting that the graphics on the Xbox 360 version are inferior to that on the PlayStation 3. According to Sankaku Complex, the players of both versions feel that the one on the PlayStation 3 looks better compared to the one on the Xbox 360.

In an interview with an everyday gamer, Sankaku receives the same information:

I went to the Sunnyvale one today and got to play the 360 version. I am so very disappointed to see the difference in textures and detail of the 360 version vs. the PS3. =( I know it's DVD vs. BD, but I didn't think it would be that noticeable. My boyfriend told me it's fine if I wanna stick with the 360 version, but he's going for the PS3 one now.

In an interview with a game journalist, Sankaku collects the same information again:

Both PS3s and 360s were being used to show off the game, which was great as I was able to see both versions running side-by-side. As expected, the 360 version was noticeably less crisp than its PS3 counterpart, but it still ran nicely.

The developers of the game also had some relevant information to share:

It was easy to port to the Xbox. Porting to the PS3 is harder. The PS3 has more processing power but you have to do it properly.

So does it necessarily matter if one version looks a little less intense than the other? Unless you're running both versions side-by-side, I don't think it will make much of a difference. Final Fantasy XIII is expected to be available for purchase on March 9th.

MAG to Require Headsets?

It looks like teamwork may actually be required in Zipper Interactive's new massive shooter MAG. Over at Platform Nation it is being speculated that a new rule may be implemented to require headsets in order to play the multiplayer features.

While this may sound like a bad idea to some, PN thinks that it will help to inspire teamwork and help to create a more enjoyable playing experience:

Now, for me, I don't mind too much when the ordinary soldier isn't wearing a headset, but when a squad leader, platoon leader, or officer in charge doesn't have a headset, I get a bit annoyed.  You see, the point of MAG is to be a FPS like no other game has done, and without communication and teamwork this ends up just being another Call of Duty with a whole lot more people at once.  Communication is key in MAG, especially for those in charge.  Leaders need to constantly be letting their squads know what needs to be done in order to ensure victory.

Zipper Interactive, it seems, feels the exact same way.  According to a recent email from Zipper Interactive sent to GameStop's around the country, MAG will be requiring ALL participants to be wearing a headset in order to play the game starting on February 10th.  This will ensure that MAG becomes the game it is supposed to be: an army communicating and working together to achieve common goals.

Hopefully we will see a bundle including MAG and a headset, making it easier than having to purchase two separate products. It will be, however, hard for those who have already invested their money into buying the standalone game since we have yet to hear if Zipper or Sony will offer any type of deal/rebate.

Don't have a headset? Don't have MAG either? You can easily buy them at Amazon today!
